Registration is open for the TAM Legislative Reception & Showcase!

Our Government Affairs committee is eager to showcase our new and improved legislative advocacy day: we have changed location and timing. We've moved even closer to our legislators as we are hosting this event inside the Lowe House Office Building, conveniently located right on 6 Bladen Street in Annapolis, MD. We've also moved the event into a morning reception to better capture legislators and aides as they work during their busy session.

What to expect at the Reception
Dress Code:
Business Professional
Food and Beverage: TAM will be providing a breakfast buffet as part of your registration. If you have any particular dietary requirements or allergies, please reach out to TAM (at [email protected]) and we will try to make sure there is a food option that suits you.
Showcase Tables: Showcase tables are 6ft in length and will have two chairs apiece behind them. We recommend bringing an appropriate tablecloth or table covering, as TAM will not be providing these for the showcase tables. We cannot guarantee access to electricity, but if you require an outlet let us know and we will try to accommodate you. Tables will be assigned (as far as possible) by geographic location - Western MD with Western MD, and so on. Look for a tent card with your organization's name when you arrive to set your table up.

The reception is intended as a relaxed environment in which elected officials and other state and local officials can interact with our attendees in a relaxed atmosphere. The tide of officials arriving and departing will vary throughout the morning, as legislators are called away for floor votes or committee meetings. We recommend that every agency manning a showcase table make sure to bring plenty of good documentation about their agency - routes, easy to read fact sheets showing off their services and accomplishments, and small branded items. We anticipate substantially higher turnout from elected officials during this event than in previous years, so be prepared. All attendees will have to go through security, and any packages or bulky items may be subject to search and screenings.

We may invite guest speakers to address our members during the session. We also may arrange for special recognition of TAM during the day on the floor of the House chamber - we will update you with any additional schedule particulars as we get closer to the reception date.

This event will serve as a big launch for TAM's legislative agenda (click here for our 2026 edition) but you should come ready with an 'ask' for your elected representatives. We certainly appreciate member support for our association's position and forthcoming legislation - but this is your opportunity to make the case for local transit in a way that only you truly can, to the 188 people who vote every year on a part of your budget.
